Dầm là những thanh gỗ có kích thước 25 x 5 cm. Nếu muốn đẹp hơn bạn có thể trang trí trước đầu các thanh dầm theo ý thích. Dùng vam để cố định tạm các thanh dầm vào cột rồi khoan lỗ bắt vào nhau. Dùng bulong đầu tròn M8 là tốt nhất.
Tiếp theo là lắp xà dọc: xà dọc cũng là những thanh gỗ có kích thước 5 x 12 cm. Tương tự, bạn có thể trang trí các thanh xà trước cho đẹp. Đặt các thanh xà lên dầm và bắt chặt bằng các vít gỗ dài. Cần bắt sao cho khi lắp đặt mái che di động được dễ dàng.
Lát sàn
Bước này có thể thực hiện trước hoặc sau hai bước ở trên đều được. Theo sở thích bạn có thể sơn phết cho sàn hoặc cũng có thể để nguyên màu gỗ để tạo ra sự đổng điệu với các khối gỗ xung quanh.
